KARL LAGERFELD'S NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH LE WEB & HIS LOVE FOR APPLE

By DAWN ELARDO
The last place we'd expect a fashion guru such as Karl Lagerfeld, is the biggest technology convention in France, LeWeb.  And yet, there he was for the hour (last week), presenting his newest venture, Karl (out of the countless creative projects Lagerfeld already has on-going—apparently, he creates eight collections annually for Chanel alone). But most of all: he was also there to profess his love for Apple and Steve jobs.

Karl, is an affordable new clothing line Lagerfeld has created for le web, which will be exclusively launched on Net-a-Porter.com this January 25, 2012.  It was truly a LeWeb history in the making: when Natalie Massenet, the Founder and Chairwoman of Net-a-Porter joined Lagerfeld on stage to discuss the unprecedented e-commerce business venture—an atypical meeting where technology intersects with fashion design.

The fashion luminary also spoke extensively about his obsession with Apple products: He has about four iPhones, a collection of iPods (hundreds of them), and he loves to sketch on his iPad, as well.  He even unveils a sketch he made, of who he thinks is one of the all time geniuses of all time, Steve Jobs, on his iPad.  Have a watch at the interview via LeWeb (featured above), as well the teaser video for Karl.  Plus a bonus video on Karl Lagerfeld launching for the Printemps Christmas seasonal window launch by Karl, in which says,"I'm lucky enough that I don't need to have a holiday season." (Both videos are featured above.)
