THE HOUSE OF GIVENCHY OPENS ITS DOORS AS PART OF JOURNÉES PARTICULIÉRES

By DAWN ELARDO
This passed weekend, LVMH organized a two-day event to showcase all the houses that fall under the giant umbrella of the luxury goods conglomerate, il s'appelle: Les Journées Particuliéres (The Special Days).  The house of Givenchy, is one among many fashion houses that opened its doors, to take part in celebrating the tradition of haute couture artistry.  The list of houses with an open-door ateliers policy just for the weekend— scattered mostly all over France and Italy — were Christina Dior, Berlutti, Louis Vuitton (of course), Moët and Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Chaument, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, and as mentioned, Givenchy (among others).

Have a watch at the preview video (featured above) for Les Journées Particuliéres.  To promote and shine the light on the exalted lifestyle image of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, the empire goes back to its roots: hence, opening the doors to couturier houses, villas, and vineyards that would normally be highly exclusive to its clients and closed to the public.

The fashion ateliers for example, featured couture in the making, complete with workshops conducted with the registered craftsmen and women during the days, coupled with night projections and animation.  Have a look at some of  the House of Givenchy's Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011 craftsmanship exhibit, executed under the creative direction of Riccardo Tisci, (images featured below).
