Creative Director, Kris Van Assche brings his roots Belgian into the house of Dior Homme. Like the signature aesthetic of fellow compatriot and fashion designer Dries Van Noten, Van Assche's Spring/Summer Dior Homme collection for 2012 is clean, minimalistic and full of architectural references. The color palette doesn't go to far beyond black and white either; aside from sister shades such as beige, browns and navy.
The excitement of this homme collection lies within the particular jagged structure of the suit and coat lapels, cut diagonally and buttoned once at the top, often paired with tapering ankle pants, matched with ankle boots. But perhaps the main attraction of the show, were the hats (pictured top left), they are tall and eccentric, commanding and mysterious at the same time—it's definitely a show piece—and definitely not something that just any man can pull off. Have a watch at the Dior Homme show from this weekend in Paris, and see for yourself.
