DETAILS OF THE COLLECTION: A CHANEL MOVIE

If you somehow missed having a peak at the Chanel Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2011/12 collection this passed Paris Fashion Week (due to some maniacal John Galliano controversies)--not to worry: Chanel decided to dedicate an entire short film not just on the collection, but more so on the details that are woven through the F/W 2011 line.

Karl Lagerfeld's inspiration went into inception while he was asleep: "I had a vision like this in my dream.  I put it on a piece of paper--and it really worked out..." said the Chanel designer at an interview he gave straight after the show.

Post dream interpretation, the fashion icon then referenced the inspiration via a painting, a scene in a film, as well as Japanese architecture and some volcanic landscapes.  (We can only imagine how it all comes into fruition after it leaves the fashion genius' head and into the runway).

He then went on to say that this collection is basically a commentary on how: "the old idea of sexiness is a little bit dated now."-- referring to the new version of modern sexiness as part of a reflection of change in the fashion world. And quite frankly, we couldn't agree more.  Have a watch at the never-less-than-a-high-production-dramatic fashion scene on the Chanel runway, followed by the short film: Details of the Collection--The Movie. (After the jump).
