Like most of us who've been deeply touched and affected by the disastrous trifecta: earthquake, tsunami, and the demise of a nuclear plant, recently to hit Japan, the fashion/art/hotel and restaurant scenes in New York have all gathered together to donate major prizes to contribute to an organized fundraising event, happening tonight at the Boom Boom Room (top floor of The Standard Hotel, NY), to raise money for a relief in Nippon.
The function will be hosted by Jen Brill, Humberto Leon, Carol Lim, among others; and the DJ lineup will be Stretch Armstrong, Sky Ferreira, and Rocktakon. The minimum donation at the door will be $20, plus a ticket for the raffle, also $20 or 3 for $50. Amongst some of the participants donating merchandise for the cause are: Prada, Miu Miu, The Standard Hotel, Magnolia Bakery, 303 Gallery, Balenciaga, Opening Ceremony, The Breslin, Proenza Schouler The Smile, Dap Books, Stella McCartney and many more! All proceeds will go to the Red Cross and the Pacific Tsunami Relief Efforts. So if you're in town and you'd like to participate in this luxurious fundraiser event, make sure to check out this soiree--where you know your money will go to our Japanese counterparts--who're in desperate need of help at the moment.
RSVP to RSVP@openingceremony.us. And of course, everyone can also make their donations now through Red Cross, HERE.
