FADER MAG & THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM COLLABORATE FOR ONE STEP PARTY

Here's an unexpected combination: The Fader magazine and the Natural History Museum are collaborating to throw a party this Friday, January 14th.  This 2011, New York City's Natural Museum kicks off its One Step Beyond monthly party with drinks and dancing.  While the planets float above and the evolutionary story swirls, their featured entertainment of the evening are Matt and Kim with a DJ set, among others (see above).

The party is a $25 entry fee; hence, we advise you to make sure you really like their featured guests--as the big space can be deceiving: The high ceilings drain out the sound, and you can inevitably start to feel like you're simply participating from a high distance.  Which means: if you want to really enjoy the music, you're bound to the ground floor.  The dancing space is quite limited: the outlying hallways are roped off --leaving you to fight for some dance space at the very center of the first floor, which can feel quite cheated in such a big allotted venue.  Keep in mind: the event only goes on from 9-1 PM; ergo this makes for an early night out, or a first stop prior to getting down elsewhere.  Have a watch at a short video (below) of Fischerspooner, from last year.  For tickets go HERE

On the other hand, a must see show we highly recommend checking out at the Natural History is Sonic Vision.  Go HERE to get a  sample, and HERE for more information.
