LE ROYAL MONCEAU HOTEL: INTERIORS RE-IMAGINED BY PHILIPPE STARCK

Luxury hotel Le Royal Monceau seated in the eighth arrondissement in Paris was recently taken under the hands of designer: Philippe Starck who has re-imagined its interiors.  The once popular meeting point for artists such as Coco Chanel, Ernest Hemingway; and a previous safe haven for celebrities such as Madonna and Michael Jackson had been under construction since 2008.  Caught with litigation conflicts in 2007, it was finally sold for 250 million euros to Qatar Diar, an oil mogul, after a year of legal battles between its shareholders.

From here Philippe Starck stepped in to ready the relaunch of the hotel in mid-October:  The hotel's 250 bedrooms has been transformed down to 150--converting that space into 54 suites and 10 apartments (extended into the adjacent building).  It also houses a 3D movie theater, trendy restaurants and bars, as well as a spa.  The design is a happy marriage of classic and post-modern--with neutral colors as the basic canvas to pop some flashy-borderline-magenta-reds and abstract art pieces as accent points.  Have a scroll below to have a feel of the the hotel for yourself, and a video prior to get you started (after the jump).
