In this scene, Furstenberg puts one of her creative advisers in her place by making sure the young lady understands how the DVF fashion house will not be a victim of fashion. Rather, it stands for a brand that advocates clothes for women--pieces with which she can consider "her friends..." as oppose to just appeasing trends.
