The latest thing in the app market is something called Flipboard: It employs what else, but your most popular social networks: Facebook and Twitter, as well as your preferred newsy outlets--transforming all relevant articles, status updates and link sharing from your network into a digitally appealing magazine. The app also makes it easy and inviting to interact with the items in "your own personalized mag." At a touch of a button, you can automatically give your feedback without having to leave the app: Flipboard allows you to comment on a photo, an article, click on the like button, or even share it with someone else directly from the application.
This newly started startup has recently banked about 10.5 million from its investors--some of which are co-founders of Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare. Hence, perhaps they know a little bit about jump-starting a good idea into crossing the chasm. However, the app does seem to be limited to two traits: 1) It's only available for the iPad. 2) It mainly focuses on your network's shared items, which can be a very specific feed that can consume a lot of time, and not enough variety. Have a watch at the demo and let us know what you think!
