Guggenheim NY has launched a YouTube contest for artistic videos--open to anyone who wants to submit their own video concoction . The winners of the digital medium contest will be featured at the museum in the fall of 2010--this October. The NYC art establishment is looking to take part in the latest social media conversation--an installment to take center stage at the Guggenheim, as well as engage its audience not just to admire: but to participate in the making of artistic innovations and art-tech-movements.
About 200 submission will be considered by the art critiques from a Guggenheim jury; and out of the 200, 20-25 will make it to the final cut--winning one of the most coveted honors as an artist--to have their work shown in one of the most prominent art institutions in the globe. Amongst one of the jurors is Nancy Spector. She is the Deputy Director and Chief Curator at the Guggenheim. She is especially curious to explore the concept of modern interpretations transpiring and what they will look like and mean for the future art. Submissions will be accepted till the end of the July.
