At this year's WWDC10 as an artistic side note to the launch of the iPhone 4 (See HERE for more on Keynote 2010), it was raining Apps at the App store--literally. Apple unveiled a mosaic Hyperwall made of apps drizzling down as they are downloaded live. The multicolored screens are meant to form one digital canvas-- to signify the hyperactive app world of Apple. Hence, the name: Apple's Hyperwall.
The color-coordinated-collage represents about 50,000 of the most popular apps being downloaded in real time out of the 5 billion in the store. Since it's live, once the wall fills up, the pixelated multi-screen starts flurrying down apps all over again. The repetitive motion attempts to capture the hyper active app consumers--the backbone of Apple's mobile business. The digitized active wall is made up of 30 synchronized 24 inch LED cinema displays. Have a watch below and see the hyper app wall in action.
