MoMa seems to be opening their doors more and more to a variety of events since last year's unveiling of the Sculpture Garden. Not only do they have film screenings daily, but since the posh yard has opened, the museum has certainly taken advantage of sharing it with the public by utilizing the space as the main venue for parties and events. See the video for the opening shindig last July featuring MIA.

This summer the modern art center has scheduled MoMa Thursday Nights, where all through July and August there will be a live band performing at their urban modern style outdoor sitting area. The schedule is broken up in two parts--MoMa Music Brazil for July in conjunction with their featured film series Premiere Brazil! 2009 (check one of the trailers below) and MoMa Music: China for August to accompany Projects 90: Song Dong . This event is perfect for a nice aperitif to start your evening with a cash bar and tapas/gelato, which are available for purchase while enjoying the romance of the city.

Last night the enrapturing, Adriana Calcanhotto performed. Watch her video below, Fico Assim Sem Voce, Thus I stay Without You. Her voice is something like soul soothing and the anime isn't too bad either.
